Tips for completing the Raid Collection Challenge in Pokémon Go

Here are some tips to help you complete the Raid Collection Challenge in Pokémon Go:

  • If you want to add the Raid Collection Challenge to your Elite Collector Medal, you must do so before the end of the Pokémon Go Tour: Kanto at 21:00 (local time) on Saturday, February 20th.
  • Thanks to Remote Raid Passes, you can now attack safely from your own home!
  • If you’ve struggling to find people to join, try finding a Pokémon Go group for your local area on Facebook, Discord, Twitter or other social media services. Here you can coordinate when and where to fight in raids.
  • Before entering a raid, you must plan your Pokémon team to include creatures that can master the raid and take advantage of its weakness.

  • If you plan to take part in several raids through the Pokémon Go Tour: remember that you need to build up a variety of health products beforehand so that you do not have to spend time farming with PokéStops.
  • Try to prevent any of your Pokémon team from fainting during the raid, as this will reduce the amount of Premier Balls you receive, which will make it harder for the raid boss to reach.
  • Remember to use Razz or Nanab berries when trying to catch the raid.
  • If you struggle to catch a raid, try throwing the PokéBall after it moves, as the Pokémon must stand still for a few seconds.

The season of celebration has arrived! With that comes an equal cap increase – including the addition of XL Candy, the Legacy 40 Challenge quest and a boost for some XP resources – Platinum medals, the advent of Gen 6 Pokémon like Espurr and changes to the Go Battle League. We recently saw the addition of ‘Strange’ red eggs and new Arlo, Cliff, Sierra and Giovanni series.

Collection challenges can be found in the ‘Today View’, which you can achieve by pressing the field research button (the small binoculars) in the lower right corner of the screen. Depending on whether you are looking at your current field or special research tasks, you may need to scroll to the left.

After visiting ‘Today View’, you will find a list of the Pokémon that you need to catch to complete the Collection Challenge. If you catch a Pokémon in the Collection Challenge cock, you can check it off the list to keep track of which Pokémon you still need to get.

It is important to note that only Pokémon obtained through raids will count for this collection challenge; which means that any Pokémon caught in the wild, Shadow Pokémon or those hatched from eggs will all be released.

Remember: the Raid Collection Challenge must be completed before 21:00 (local time) on Saturday 20 February, otherwise you can never add it to your Elite Collector Medal.

Good luck completing this collection challenge!
