Where’s the Super Smash Bros. sitting? Ultimate series lists 1 month after the release of Sephiroth?

As the Final Fantasy games have shown, it looks like he has a losing game against Cloud

Sephiroth was definitely a surprising choice for almost everyone as the third DLC character from Super Smash Bros.Ultimate’s Fighters Pass Vol. 2, but that certainly did not stop him from being a popular and seemingly fairly powerful choice now that he’s on the battlefield.

It may feel like yesterday, but the Final Fantasy 7 villain is now available for exactly one month to play in Smash, giving us all the perfect opportunity to see how players rank the fighter early in the rankings.

If we take a closer look at Smash Ultimate’s EventHubs community levels, it looks like Sephiroth already has a good start in the numbers, but it’s likely to take even longer to go beyond where he’s in 34th place.

While this may not sound too impressive at the moment, the evil icon may win him the majority where he is at least slightly ahead according to strong characters like Wario, Rosalina and Ness.

Ironically, Cloud is currently touted as one of Sephiroth’s worst matches, which I can definitely see if he can get the villain to try to chase. Otherwise, if he tries to stay back, Cloud can top Limit without having to worry about him in addition to his excellent mobility.

Unfortunately, the handsome boy with a long sword, however, is also struggling against most of the strongest characters in the game, and especially Pikachu, Zero Suit Samus, and Snake. The same goes for fast fighters who can chase him down like Sonic, Fox, Joker and Inkling.

The character that has been actually upward lately is actually Min Min, which seems to be a bit of an issue under the Japanese scene, which means she’s going to eventually get higher as this year progresses.

However, Minecraft’s Steve cannot say the same, as he has fallen pretty quickly in the ranks where he has gone from about 50 in November to 64 now.

Pikachu extended their lead as number one on the rankings above Joker and Peach, while Zero Suit Samus looks set to break the top five in the near future.

You can view the current rankings of Smash and compare it to what it was like after Minecraft’s Steve release, along with Sephiroth’s best and worst games.
