According to the NWS ‘Sunday morning forecast, the chance of snow overnight is greatest near the state line Louisiana-Mississippi, between 21:00 and midnight.

The ‘very, very cold rain’ would have to end on Monday afternoon for most of the area, but sunshine will probably only return on Tuesday.

Measurable amounts of snow have fallen in parts of Texas and it is predicted that it will fall in northern Louisiana in the Shreveport and Monroe areas where warnings for winter storms apply.

The Baton Rouge area and the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain last recorded measurable snowfall in December 2017, with totals ranging from a few centimeters to half a foot in some northern areas.
