Where to buy the Xbox Series X: new updates for Best Buy, Amazon, Target, Walmart, more

This story is part of Holiday Gift Guide 2020, CNET’s gift options with expert advice, reviews and recommendations for the latest technical gifts for you and your family.

Try a Xbox X Series? Of course you are – so are the rest of the world. Players have been waiting more than six weeks for Xbox stock to appear online. Microsoft’s next-generation game consoles – the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S – sold out more or less immediately on launch day and then sold out within minutes every time there were big stock sales at major retailers. . In part, this is of course due to insatiable consumer demand. But there is little doubt about it resellers and bumps that beat average consumers.

Currently there is nowhere to get stock. There have been a handful of stock declines at stores like Walmart and Best Buy over the past few weeks. Just before the holiday, Best Buy actually announced a few consoles for sale that were unexpectedly sold out immediately. Walmart had its own stock declines for two days in a row, both of which ran out faster than it took me to type it. This means that all retailers are currently sold out again.

We keep an eye on Twitter and other news sources, and we’ll keep you posted on what retailers like Best Buy, Walmart, Amazon, GameStop and Target are planning. Still, it’s best to keep our expectations in check: Microsoft confirmed this in November Xbox inventory may be tight until April 2021.

The following is a list of the major subject retailers selling the Xbox Series X. Our advice is to look up the $ 500 sale price and avoid the expensive retail bundles (which include foreign controllers, accessories, and games). Even better: if you do not have a 4K TV and you do not expect to get one soon, try the Xbox Series S instead of saving $ 100.

Amazon sells the Xbox Series X and the cheaper Series S from the same product page.

GameStop had presented ‘very limited number of Xbox Series X and S console bundles for sale’, but it’s currently sold out.

Walmart does a great job of noting the availability windows for PS5 and Xbox Twitter feed. You will also want to visit the Xbox landing page for both new consoles.

If you want to get the latest on the Xbox Series X, there is probably nothing better than Microsoft’s own Xbox Series X homepage. Here you will find the latest specifications, announced game titles, details about the new controller and more.

This is Target’s product page for the Xbox Series X.

This is where you can buy the Xbox Series X at Newegg if the retailer has stock.

Are you getting desperate already? Are you willing to pay a premium of hundreds of dollars over the list price? Listen, we would not do that and we do not recommend that you do. But if you want to get down to business, StockX is a trusted eBay-style website that lets you buy and sell new Xbox and PS5 models – as long as you are willing to pay more than $ 650.
