When ‘The Sopranos’ movie, ‘Many Saints of Newark’ opens

The ‘Saints’ have not yet moved in.

After being postponed over COVID-19 concerns, the much-anticipated ‘The Many Saints of Newark’ will finally open on September 24, 2021 – almost a year after the original scheduled release date.

The “The Sopranos” variety, produced by New Line Cinemas and published by Warner Bros., was originally available in theaters and streaming services in September 2020, Variety reports.

The mafia turn made by David Chase was later rescheduled for this spring due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

‘The Many Saints of Newark’ is described as the original story of HBO’s iconic mob drama – which ran from 1999 to 2007.

The young Tony Soprano is aptly portrayed by Michael Gandolfini, the equal son of the late James Gandolfini, who played the adult soprano in the iconic HBO series. The 21-year-old actor revealed last year that he never even watched his father’s legendary show until he was thrown into the prequel.

The star-studded cast also features Leslie Odom Jr. of the “Hamilton” fame, Jon Bernthal, Corey Stoll, Alessandro Nivola, Billy Magnussen, John Magaro, Michela De Rossi, Ray Liotta and Vera Farmiga.

“The Many Saints of Newark” will appear simultaneously in theaters and the HBO Max streaming service.
