Dr. Anthony Fauci, a White House health adviser, recently updated the timeline for when all Americans have access to a COVID-19 vaccine.
Fauci said it will likely be between mid-May and early June when most Americans can get the vaccine via CNBC. Fauci had earlier suggested that late March to early April would be the time when every American could get the vaccine.
- The decision to postpone comes because Johnson and Johnson have changed their stock estimates for his new vaccine, which according to CNBC is still awaiting approval of the emergency use by the Food and Drug Administration.
Earlier timeline
Earlier in February, Fauci told the show “Today” that the distribution of vaccines would increase. He said people would have the chance to get the COVID-19 vaccine in April, as I wrote for Deseret News.
- “It will be picked up … what will happen if we come in March and April, the number of available doses will make it much more possible to take a mass vaccination approach, which is much faster than what you see now.”
- He continued: ‘If you look at the projection, I would imagine that by the time we come in April, this is what I call, for a better wording’ open season ‘. Virtually anyone and everyone in any category can start vaccinating. ”
Look at Christmas
President Joe Biden said at a CNN City Hall event Tuesday night that the United States will be back to normal during the Christmas season.
- “So if it works out that way, as my mother would say with the grace of God and the goodwill of the neighbors, I would think by next Christmas that we would be in a very different situation than we want to be today,” Biden said. said. said at the CNN event.
