WhatsApp tests the migration of chat history between iPhone and Android

According to WhatsApp, the ability to easily migrate chat history between an iPhone and an Android device is being tested WABetaInfo.

As the website reports, this feature is part of a strategic change in the WhatsApp app. The company has been exploring the possibility of using WhatsApp on multiple devices simultaneously, and the ability to migrate chat history between iOS and Android is part of this effort.

The image below shows that WhatsApp can migrate the chat history from the iOS app to the Android app, and vice versa. According to WABetainfo:

When the user tries to connect a device with another operating system to his WhatsApp account, it is always necessary to update to the latest WhatsApp update available in the App Store or TestFlight, to fix any reconciliation error with the Avoid Android version.

Although there is no information on how to test this feature and there is no date available for the release, it is still interesting to hear that the company is engaging in something that already exists in other messaging programs, such as Telegram.

The ability to use the same WhatsApp account on multiple devices is one of the most requested features by users as well as an iPad version of Instagram. Let’s see which one comes first to users.
