Instagram, WhatsApp Facebook and Facebook Messenger were available to millions of users for about 30 minutes today, and people complained that they could not access the suite of Facebook chat platforms.
“We’m sorry, but something went wrong. Please try again,” the Instagram app said when we tried to access any part of the app. WhatsApp was similar to a ‘Connecting’ and circular icon at the top, and we saw similar issues in the Facebook Messenger app. Messages are not sent by our contacts.
Facebook has not yet commented on the issues, but in the past there have been similar issues that have seen all these services interrupted simultaneously.

TechRadar asked Facebook for a comment on what was happening, but we have not heard of this yet. Without Facebook commenting, we have yet to hear when these services will resume.
We will monitor the four services to see when they are online again, and we will be sure to return to this story for any updates on when we can expect WhatsApp, Instagram and more to return.
Where do the problems happen? It seems to be around the world as DownDetector reports from the US, Spain, Saudi Arabia, Japan and Russia. We can also confirm that the problems are also occurring in the UK.
It is currently unclear if this will affect other Facebook services, but we will keep this story up to date.
