Whataburger officially opens first place in the Nashville area this fall

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (WTVF) – Whataburger has officially announced plans to open its first location in the Nashville area this weekend.

The beloved Texas citizen chain will open in Hermitage at Old Hickory Boulevard 5055 and plans to open additional locations in the Nashville area by 2022. The company did not disclose an exact opening date.

NewsChannel 5 previously taught could get Central Tennessee a total of five locations: Murfreesboro, Gallatin, Lebanon, Madison and Hermitage.

Whataburger now wants to hire more than 200 employees this year, including positions such as restaurant manager, general manager and area manager. Hiring team members will begin in the summer. Those interested in applying can click here for more information.

The journey to bring Whataburger back to Central Tennessee has been long awaited since the company closed its Nashville franchises in the 1970s.
