PHOENIX – Next week’s appointments for COVID-19 vaccines at Arizona’s state-owned enterprises will be made available at 11 a.m. Friday, as it’s the same time every week.

The places can be booked online at https://podvaccine.azdhs.gov/ or by calling 844-542-8201.

Government officials have not announced how many shots will be used on their websites, using the two-dose Pfizer vaccine. However, the University of Arizona has announced that its state-run Tucson website is planning 8,900 first-dose appointments next week.

Although anyone in Arizona, 16 years and older, is eligible for a survey of suppliers using Pfizer vaccines (that is, 18 and older for the Moderna and Johhnson & Johnson versions), the required appointments are easier to find as stock and the number of people already vaccinated increase.

“What I see now is that the demand is starting to meet the demand,” said dr. Arizona Director of Health Cara Christ’s Department of Health Services said in a news conference Monday.

According to the ADHS COVID-19 dashboard, nearly 4 million doses of vaccines were administered in Arizona on Friday morning, with state-owned sites giving 28% of the shots.

The state is running a public announcement campaign that encourages people to be vaccinated. Christ said he hoped it would help alleviate the problem of hesitation against vaccines.

“But we expect demand to start declining a bit,” she added.

Meanwhile, the state is continuing to adjust the vaccine payout program to offset rising temperatures.

The state-run driveway in the parking lot of Glendale’s State Farm Stadium, which this week was switched from 24/7 service to overnight shifts (17: 00-9: 00), is in the final two weeks of operations. It will be replaced on April 23 by a boarding place in the nearby Gila River Arena.

By now, there will be no state-run outdoor mass vaccination sites in the Phoenix subway.

The Chandler-Gilbert Community College parking lot closed last week and was replaced Monday by the state’s first driveway indoor site, located in Mesa in the Dexcom Distribution Center near Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport.

The state announced Thursday that its parking lot at Phoenix Municipal Stadium will be shut down this weekend and replaced with a site inside Arizona State University’s Desert Financial Arena, about 3 miles away in Tempe.

The state also announced this week that it will open an indoor hangout at WestWorld of Scottsdale on April 22.

If no other changes are made, the University of Arizona will be the only remaining state-run site with outdoor service, although the state has a heat plan to possibly move it indoors next month. The state’s second premises outside the Phoenix area were launched on March 29 in the Yuma Civic Center.

On Friday afternoon, officials announced that the first state-owned premises in Northern Arizona will open on April 19 at the University Union Fieldhouse at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff.

For information on the availability of vaccines across the country, the ADHD website has a vaccine finder page that contains locations and registration information.

Maricopa County Public Health has a pharmacy tracking page, government-run websites, health clinics, and pop-up distribution events.

Additional locations may be open by any provider at any time due to cancellations and additional deliveries, so vaccine seekers should continue to regularly check one or all of the registration options.
