Earlier this week, Capcom announced the RE Showcase, which gives us a first look at what we can expect from the Resident Evil franchise in the coming weeks and months.
Here is everything we would like to see from the showcase.
Release Date of Resident Evil 8
During the announcement it was revealed that we will be seeing the game for the upcoming Resident Evil 8 for the first time.
Along with the game, it would be great to announce a release date for the game.
There have been rumors for some time that the game will be released in April, but nothing has been confirmed.
The last few RE titles were released in January or April, so unless Capcom drops RE8 immediately after the event, I think we can exclude January as the release date.
Instead, April does look like a likely release date, otherwise we’ll have to wait until the fall, as most developers prefer not to release games during the summer.
Resident Evil 4 Remake Announcement
Following the success of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 Remake, fans immediately speculated about the possibility of a Resident Evil 4 Remake, with ‘sweets’ claiming it was going on.
Many fans will be excited to hear that the game is in production, as it is often considered one of the greatest games of all time, and helped shape how action games would play over the next decade with mechanics such as Quick Time Events.
Another possibility is a Code Veronica Remake, it was the next game in the series after RE3, so it would make sense, but it’s not as popular of a game as the numbered games, despite the intention to make the original To be RE3.
Release Date for Live Action Movie
In 2020, we found out about a new reload for Resident Evil.
In 2002, the first Resident Evil movie was released, followed by numerous others.
The director was played by Alice WS Anderson and Milla Jovovich as Alice.
Despite earning more than $ 1 billion, the series is not fondly remembered.
A reload has been announced, staying closer to the original source material.
By the end of 2020, we started seeing a lot of photos of sets from the movie, and many look strikingly like their peers in the video games.
It has been confirmed that the filming is done, so hopefully the movie will not be too far away.
The current expected release date is September 9, 2021, but Capcom’s official confirmation will be good news to hear, and also to see a trailer is the icing on the cake.
Animation Netflix release date
An animated Resident Evil movie is being produced on Netflix.
Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield will play the lead role, bringing the iconic duo back together for the first time since 2008’s Resident Evil: Degeneration.
The first trailer for the film has been released, but there is no release date yet, only we know it will appear in 2021.
Check out the Infinite Darkness trailer below.
Manga release date
To round off the 25th anniversary of Resident Evil, the new Resident Evil manga.
The new manga will be announced in 2021 during the MetaVerse online event of New York Comic Con and will be released in 2021 and will coincide with the animated film Infinite Darkness.
This will not be the first time a manga of Resident Evil has been released, and over the years, several have been released, including the popular Chinese manhuas.
2021 will be a big year for Resident Evil as it celebrates its 25th anniversary.
The first Resident Evil game was released on March 22, 1996 in Japan. The range is called Biohazard in Japan.
Since then, the series has sold more than 105 million copies, making it one of the most successful franchises of all time.
