Amazon’s Prime Video rollout for May focuses on stars, creators and big names, not that this streaming service ever makes the habit of highlighting underground content from people no one has heard of, but Amazon’s May looks especially focused on names and faces that you will recognize from other popular things. First in line is The son of Medellin, a documentary about J Balvin in preparation for a major hometown show in Colombia. Then there is The underground railway, Oscar winner Barry Jenkins’ adaptation of Colson Whitehead’s novel of the same name about a woman trying to escape from slavery. Then there is another concert-adjacent documentary: P! Nk: Everything I know so far, which according to a press release is a “look behind the curtain of the circus that [Pink] call her life. It’s a mixed metaphor, because circuses do not really have curtains, but they come from The Greatest Showmansays Michael Gracey, so we can slide circus images. Finally, in what easily swings Amazon’s biggest “look at how many famous people we know” since Modern love, we have Solos, an anthology on “what it means to be human” starring Anne Hathaway, Uzo Aduba, Morgan Freeman, Anthony Mackie, Helen Mirren, Constance Wu, Dan Stevens and Nicole Beharie.

In addition to the Prime Video original, subscribers can also watch it Flight, Lug val, some of the Alien sequels, and Rose Glass’ Saint maud (the latest A24 horror nightmare). You can watch it on IMDb TV, Prime Video’s free spin-off Mr and Mrs Smith, the Star Trek reload movie, The Tooth Fairies, en Hotel Artemis.
