Animal crossing: new horizons is one of the games that saved our sanity in 2020, but not everyone plays it every day. Maybe you found something else to play on your Switch or you just got tired of the daily grind – and that’s good! But you may notice that your island looks a little different when you return.
Unlike other video games, take time away from Animal transition has consequences in the game. None of this is serious, but the list of tasks and special occasions you miss will get longer if you spend too much time between visits. Returning to a neglected island can be overwhelming, especially if it’s your first Animal transition game, but we’ll show you everything you need to do to get your town back in order.
Join your friends
The first thing many socially minded players will do is chat to the friendly villagers they haven’t seen in a while. Your village mailbox can only contain 300 messages at a time. If you’ve been away with a full mailbox for several months, you may have even lost emails that could not be delivered – including gifts from your friends or special items that appear once a year. Unfortunately, these missing items could not be traced (unless you use time travel).
Look for special occasions
The Animal transition games have their own seasonal calendar with special holidays and festivals that only take place once a year. These time-limited special events feature unique items and updates to your city, such as snowfall on Toy Day. These events are inaccessible once they are gone, but if you are lucky, you can only run into one if you reload the game. Check every inch of your city to see if anything has changed.
I do not recommend playing a game every day because of FOMO – there are many other games to play, hobbies to take with you and important life events that are more important than Animal transition-however, there are enough online resources to keep abreast of important upcoming seasonal events in New horizons or you can help predict random events on your island meteor showers and weather or Fluctuations in the stalk market, so you do not miss it.
