The news broke earlier this week that the Miami Dolphins would not only be at the Senior Bowl in 2021, but that their coaching staff would be fully available to coach one of the two NFL hopefuls. It’s a big win for the Dolphins, who will reap the rewards of being so skewed in building their franchise through the NFL draft under general manager Chris Grier and head coach Brian Flores.
What are the prospects for paying attention to Flores and the Dolphins ahead of the event, which is being held in Mobile, Alabama at the end of the month?
Here are a number of possible “scheme passes” or players on the positions to be noted. The more of these players Miami can get its hands on, the better.
CB Elijah Molden, Washington
Molden is a gifted cornerback who can, despite the feeling of redundancy in the depths map of Miami, give a boost. Miami was deliberate in dealing with Noah Igbinoghene in the first round to keep him on the perimeter as Molden spent a lot of time in the nickel. The 2021 off-season will be an excellent opportunity to upgrade the position for Miami, which was manned by UDFA Nik Needham in 2019.
