What it looks like in ‘China’s Hawaii’, where Jack Ma played golf

Chinese billionaire Jack Ma has been out of the public eye for three months because China has shut down its businesses.

His only public appearance was a 50-second video at the end of January, during which he made brief remarks to rural teachers from across China.

But according to a Bloomberg report, the founder of Alibaba and Ant Group has been seen playing golf in the Sun Valley golf course in Hainan, China for the past few weeks. The luxury resort has a 27-hole golf course, a clubhouse and a restaurant.

Such clubs are not difficult to find in Hainan, the island province in southern China known as ‘the Hawaii of China’ due to its tropical climate, luxury beach resorts and golf courses.

Here’s what it’s like to vacation in Hainan.
