West Virginia Government Requests Republicans to ‘Swallow’ Unrelated Expenses in Biden COVID-19 Emergency Relief Plan

West Virginia Republican Gov. Jim Justice urged Senate Republicans Wednesday to ‘swallow’ President Biden’s huge $ 1.9 billion COVID-19 emergency relief plan, warning lawmakers that ‘many people’ will be hurt ‘if they continue to oppose the law.

Justice responded to ‘Special Report’ after R-Utah Sen. Mitt Mittney dismissed Biden’s proposal as a ‘clunker’ full of Democratic pet projects and unrelated items.

‘I have all the respect in the world for a good senator … [and] you have to understand, I’m not a proponent of the projects, I can not stand it, ‘Justice told host Bret Baier.

“But,” he added, “in this situation we will have to do something to get everything over the finish line.”

Romney is one of several Republican lawmakers who criticize the provisions in the enlightenment bill. Among them is a $ 1,400 stimulus test that mixed-status families with undocumented immigrants go through; permission for Planned Parenthood to receive Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) funds designed to keep small businesses running; and nearly $ 600 million allocated for additional emergency paid family leave for federal employees and U.S. postal service workers.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, RN.Y., predicted that the Senate would pass the bill before March 14, but Biden could face serious challenges in his bid to gain Republican support for his proposal, especially with a federal minimum of $ 15 per hour. wage demand and debate over how much money should be directed to struggling state and local governments.

“Our model is simple … our local pharmacies, all our local clinics, our national guard has increased and we have risen,” Justice explained. ‘We went up with the people we knew were going to die [if infected], and it was our seniors, and we absolutely got ourselves back in school because we immediately vaccinated all our teachers and service staff. ‘

“We’ve been looking at age, age and age,” Justice said, “and that’s all there is to it.”
