E’s Bar is one of the restaurants open for dinner.
Governor Cuomo on Friday reopened restaurants with 25% capacity indoor eateries, and some eateries on the Upper West Side resumed service.
The Lincoln Square Business Improvement District has put together a list of restaurants that will soon reopen or be planned. Some restaurants have said they are delaying reopening if Cuomo reverses the rate, or because the 25% cost is not worth it.
Criticism has also been leveled at the decision, as public health experts say indoor eating places carry too many risks at a time when the pandemic is still raging. ‘We could have offered great financial help to help struggling restaurants, ”wrote councilor Mark Levine Twitter. ‘Instead, let’s reopen their indoor dining room today – at a time when there are 4-5 000 cases a day in NYC, 3,700 are being hospitalized and a number of variants are increasing here. The next few weeks will be dangerous. ”
