A waitress at Lilly’s Cocktail & Wine bar at West 72nd Street 50 near Columbus Avenue received a very exciting fee on Friday – a $ 7,000 check, thanks to a comedian who raised the money from her major social media.
Robyn Schall, who has more than 140,000 followers on Instagram, broadcast her meal live in the wine bar on Thursday. She raised a total of $ 13,000, which is why she handed out checks to various people working there, saying they were from her followers.
The waitress was 24-year-old Ulyana Hruschak.
“I still feel it was not real,” Hrushchak said in a telephone interview with Bloomberg on Friday. “It’s one of those troubling moments.”
Schall said she wants to spread the love after donations helped her stay afloat during the pandemic.
“Everyone is struggling right now, and people just wanted to do something good,” Schall said in a telephone interview, adding that she did not expect such a big response. “I was so overwhelmed.”
As a stand-up comedian, Schall relied on donations to support herself during the pandemic. She started performing more on YouTube and Instagram, but things really started in November when a video about her 2020 list went viral.
