Weis Markets’ in-store pharmacies start vaccinating COVID-19

Weis Markets has announced that it will begin administering COVID-19 vaccines in 55 of its in-store pharmacies on Thursday.

Per Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Department of Pennsylvania’s Department of Health, Weis Pharmacy staff will prioritize individuals 65 and older for COVID-19 vaccinations, according to a press release.

Weis pharmacies will also prioritize COVID-19 vaccinations for people aged 16-64 with high-risk conditions, including cancer, chronic kidney disease, smoking, COPD, heart disease, Down syndrome, obesity and diabetes.

To receive the vaccine, customers must make an appointment with a Weis-certified immunizer at: https://www.weismarkets.com/pharmacy-services. Appointments are available one day before the vaccination, and a face covering is required. To ensure the effectiveness of the vaccine, Weis pharmacies will schedule customers for a second vaccination four weeks after their first shot.
