As expected, the fully electric wagon of the Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo is not cheap. However, if you stick to the base Taycan 4 Cross Turismo, it’s only a $ 11,000 surcharge from the basic Taycan four-door sedan. At $ 90,900, the Porsche electric ‘station wagon’ is equal to the earlier expectations of many people.

In fact, if you had paid attention to it, you probably already knew that Porsche had revealed the base price of $ 90,900, which excludes the $ 1,350 destination charge. As our very own Tom Moloughney recently reported, this is only a $ 1,500 premium for a comparably equipped Taycan sedan. Let’s look at how everything really picks up.

In terms of specifications, the Taycan 4 Cross Turismo wagon sits between the basic Taycan sedan and the Taycan 4S sedan. The basic Taycan sedan, recently launched, starts at $ 79,900. It makes 402 horsepower and has a zero to 60 km / h time of 5.1 seconds. The Taycan 4 Cross Turismo wagon delivers 469 horsepower and will take you to 60 km / h in 4.8 seconds. None of them have an official series rating yet. The $ 103,800 Taycan 4S sedan offers a range of 227 miles and has 522 horsepower and a 0-60-mph time of 3.8 seconds.

We spent some time at Porsche’s official Taycan online configurator. Unless you are actually considering buying a Taycan, or if you have a lot of free time in your hands, we suggest that you do not go down the rabbit hole. This is a big time failure.

Needless to say, after spending a lot of time building our Taycan Cross Turismo wagon – only to scrap it, as we are not in the market for a six-digit car, but up to $ 240,000. We could have raised the price even more. For reference, there are four Taycan Cross Turismo finishes, with the Turbo S Series starting at $ 187,600.
