Fabiano then says the team is believed to be the final round on what is the ‘best survival horror game’ ever released with Resident Evil Village.
Concept and planning has been something that our developers have been thinking about since the end of Resident Evil VII: Biohazard. The team became very attached to Ethan as a character, so we knew we wanted to continue his story arc. We wanted to continue to let players experience the game through the eyes of protagonist Ethan Winters. This is a sequel to Resident Evil VII: Biohazard.
It really helped to target our vision. And because we are constantly sharing information about Resident Evil teams, it has helped us to help us make the best survival horror game to date.
Last but not least, Fabiano said Resident Evil Village drew considerable inspiration from Resident Evil 4, the series’ episode with the highest critique score (96 on Metacritic).
