WATCH: Wonder Woman 1984 Introduces Retro Credit Sequence

A new opening series for Wonder Woman 1984 has been posted online, paying homage to the 1977 Lynda Carter series.

A new series for opening credits for Wonder Woman 1984 was released and paid tribute to the 1977 Wonder Woman television series starring Lynda Carter.

Splicing die Wonder Woman The series features a theme for TV series, above the footage of the film, and also includes animated to live-action transitions for certain series, as well as the cast of the film. Gadot even has the chance to perform Carter’s classic twist transformation.

The series also features Carter himself in a “special guest appearance.” During a series of credits, Carter appears as Asteria – an Amazon warrior who is presumed dead but lived in the place of humanity like Diana. Asteria rescues a young mother from a fake telephone pole to crush her, and when asked how she did it, she replies, “I’ve been doing this for a long time.” The line also serves as a reference to her long-standing Amazon and Carter’s commitment to the role.

Wonder Woman 1984 made its debut in theaters and on HBO Max last Christmas, leading to the announcement that Warner Bros. his entire 2021 series of films would debut on HBO Max as well as theaters. The film itself received mixed reviews but was a surprising success during streaming.

Directed and co-written by Patty Jenkins, Wonder Woman 1984 stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, Pedro Pascal and Natasha Rothwell. The film will be released digitally on March 16 and on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD on March 30.
