Watch this lovely promo video for the new ASUS Chromebook Removable CM3

Of course, we’m very excited about other emerging ARM – powered Chromebook tablets, such as ‘Coachz’ and ‘Homestar’, but that does not mean that we are not equally crazy about the first real competitor for the very popular Lenovo Chromebook Duet. it wants to come to our side soon. ASUS’s new Chromebook Removable CM3 (ugh, that name) looks all that’s good about the Duet’s winning formula and refines it with an aluminum screen, slightly larger screen, a chopped USI pen, a multifunctional stand, and a more spacious keyboard. If it all comes together well and is just priced right, this thing can definitely be a hit.

To continue to be the appetite of buyers, ASUS has released an official promo video for the upcoming tablet that does not do as much to give us new information as it makes the device so much more attractive. You can watch the video below and see what we mean.

Again, no extra details are offered, but the arrival of a promotional video along with the fully-fledged landing page and the availability of the upcoming Costco availability, tell me that this Chromebook-removable tablet is not far from a general retail launch not. One thing that will be quite important for the success of the CM3 is how it acts as a portable productivity machine. No one expects speed to be the best quality here, but a slightly larger screen, coupled with what looks like a reasonably sized keyboard, can provide a device that is good at not only consuming content, but actually stuff get. done.

A big part of the productivity is whether the Chromebook-powered Chromebook can handle the output of the screen compared to the mess we have with the Lenovo Duet. Sometimes productivity requires a second screen, and Chromebooks have historically been very good at this kind of multitasking. The Duet has let many of us down, so I hope the ASUS CM3 does not end up in the same pitfall. I suppose we’ll know that soon enough.
