Watch: Post Malone headlines from the Pokémon Day virtual concert

February 27 was Pokémon Day, 25 years since Pokémon Red and Green appeared in Japan, and rapper Post Malone has the title of a virtual concert to celebrate the anniversary. It’s embedded above and we had a taste of it on Thursday with Malone’s cover of Hootie and the Blowfish’s classic 90’s Only Wanna Be With You.

If YouTube is not your first choice of a virtual concert venue, the concert will also be broadcast live on Twitch. The official Pokemon site will also feature the concert. Katy Perry will take part in another “P25” musical event.

The Pokemon Company also unveiled some important new games for Nintendo Switch Friday in a live stream: Pokémon Brilliant diamond and shiny pearl coming out later this year, and Pokémon Legends: Arceus arrives early in 2022. New Pokémon Snap, which appeared on April 30, also received a fresh trailer.
