On Thursday, the Pittsburgh Penguins and Philadelphia Flyers faced off at the PPG Paints Arena and an unexpected member of the Penguins enlisted some help. OK, the help was unofficial, but it still counts for something.

The equipment manager gave Sidney Crosby another hockey stick, no. 87 grabbed it and passed with a rebound to a Kris Letang shot and put the Penguins on board. The goal came in the second period of the match.

Here’s another corner of the Penguins’ overall team effort:

Someone give the equipment manager a sweater! At least he deserves to be listed on the state state, because the purpose is for him largely in part.

The Penguins gave the equipment manager a shout out on their official Twitter account. It’s now the most iconic duo in the NHL.

The Flyers came up 19-17-6 (44 points) in the game and are sixth in the Eastern Division. The Penguins entered 27-13-2 (56 points) and are third in the Eastern Division.

The Flyers play next Saturday at the Washington Capitals, on Saturday, April 17th. The Penguins depart for First Niagara Center to play the Buffalo Sabers on Saturday, April 17th.
