[WATCH] Marcus Mumford in Carey Mulligan’s SNL Monologue

What are family members for, if not to interrupt? Saturday Night Live host’s monologues – and, in the case of Carey Mulligan’s husband, Marcus Mumford, hit some chords from their hit in the late 2000s. Mulligan made her SNL debuted last night as the self-proclaimed ‘first English person to ever present this show’, and barely made it through her required Michelle Williams jokes before Mumford (lead singer of Mumford & Sons) interrupted, explaining that he left their children at home with ‘the ‘Boys. He breaks out his guitar, despite Mulligan’s pleas not to ‘be the guy who takes out his acoustic guitar at a party’ (‘people love that guy!’, Says Mumford). Mulligan finally concedes and leaves Mumford on stage to send the audience to the commercial, and the whole thing, though a little predictable, is very sweet and very British.
