Lenovo’s new Legion Phone Duel 2 is a gaming phone with two USB-C ports, a pop-up camera and even built-in fans. There is so much technology inside that Lenovo has decided that it would be best to push its most important, hard-working components in the center of the phone, making it easier for fans to keep everything cool during the game. As a result, it is thicker in the middle, flanked by two batteries. At first it did not look like a big red flag. In any case, it looked smart – that is, until YouTuber JerryRigAll got hold of the phone (via Android Police).
As part of the careful testing of the duct’s durability, each device is finally bent to see how much bending it can withstand before breaking. Most devices can withstand, but usually not without bent metal or glass that is on the go. The Legion Phone Duel 2 did not go well at all to be bent, not even a little. Around the 8:40 mark in the video, shortly after the host said, “I’m not even about to break,” it clipped satisfactorily to the antenna line that meets the raised middle section, which the phone endangers its ability to switch on. . With little force, the host also broke the other side to illustrate the lack of structural integrity in the design.
Lenovo’s device is not necessarily an outlier compared to other recent gaming phones that have tested the channel. The Asus ROG Phone 5 (similar to the Ultimate model I recently reviewed) also crashed during testing, despite a more cohesive design. That said, it apparently needs more power to break than Lenovo’s new phone. I’m no engineer, but it seems like the battery split might be part of the blame for the fragility, because that’s also how Asus’ latest phone is arranged internally.
Just as different as the Legion Phone Duel 2 looks compared to some other game-oriented phones, it costs a high price of $ 950. And the somewhat fragile design can end up costing you even more expensive if you have to get a replacement.
