Washington Nationals play doubles against Atlanta Braves, eyeball moves amid COVID-19 outbreak

The Nationals and Braves will make up their game that was postponed Monday due to the outbreak of Washington’s coronavirus as part of a double-edged sword Wednesday.

Major League Baseball announced the change Monday while Nationals players worked at Nationals Park.

Four players on the Nationals tested positive for COVID-19 and another seven were placed under quarantine after contact detection determined they may have been exposed.

According to The Athletic, the Nationals plan to add striker Luis Garcia, fielder Yadiel Hernandez, catcher Tres Barrera, right-hander Kyle McGowin and left-hander.

Star shortstop Trea Turner, first baseman Josh Bell and catcher Yan Gomes were reportedly not among the players present during Monday’s training session.

The 2019 World Cup champions have yet to play a game this season. Their starting streak for three games against the New York Mets has been completely postponed. Nationals and Braves play two rugby matches with seven overs on Wednesday, the first of which starts at 12:05 ET.
