Warzone’s Most Effective Weapons in Meta Shake Off • • Eurogamer.net

Raven Software crashed two of Call of Duty: Warzone’s most effective weapons in an attempt to shake up the battle Royale meta.

In an update released live this afternoon, the developer annoyed the super-popular AUG and FFAR 1.

Eurogamer news roll: why did Nintendo kill Mario?

First, the AUG – or as it is known in the patch notes, Cold War Tactical Rifle Charlie (that’s why Call of Duty insists on using this name for its rifles).

The recoil strength has been increased on the AUG, which will hopefully calm it down a bit.

“Burst weapons drive a fine line between ineffective and oppressive,” Raven said. “The purpose of this change is to maintain the weapon’s identity as a power station, while making it a little harder to use. At the moment, we feel it’s too easy to stay on target given how deadly it is. “We will continue to implement the Tactical Rifle Charlie and make additional modifications if necessary.”

Now to the FFAR 1, an assault rifle that, like the AUG, was brought into Warzone as part of the controversial integration of Treyarch’s Black Ops Cold War. The FFAR has seen its ADS speed decrease, which will hopefully make it feel more like an assault rifle and less like an SMG.

“The FFAR is a scumbag of all industries,” Treyarch said. “It has the damage profile and scope of an AR as well as the burning speed of an SMG. The FFAR’s wholesale efficiency allows it to extend SMGs to ranges we are not happy with. Ideally, the FFAR fulfills the role of a mid-range dominator, while the prey falls on weapons that excel in short-range connections. We bring the FFAR a little more in line with what you can expect from an AR – damage and range from handling. “

Meanwhile, there are bug fixes in attachments. Here is the list:

  • Traction attachments that have shown ADS speed benefits should now properly increase the ADS speed.
  • A bug fixed with the Groza where the 16.5 “CMV Mil-Spec barrel would bypass damage.
  • A bug fixed with the Ember Sighting Point where the XM4 and AK-47’s ADS speeds increased rather than decreased.
  • A bug fixed with the Salvo Fast Mag where the ADF speed of FFAR 1 and M16 did not decrease.
  • The Pelington 703 Wrapped Suppressor effects should now be properly displayed in the state bar.

And finally, the camo challenges for the R1 Shadowhunter now appear correctly for the categories Geometric, Flora and Science.

It’s good to see Raven come in here to tackle two of Warzone’s most popular guns, and I hope the nerves are going to make a way to add variety to the meta. But these sticky notes are again inaccurate. We do not have the exact statistics for these changes – although the regular suspects within the Call of Duty community will give their opinion soon enough, I think.
