Warzone players have some interesting theories about the future of the map • Eurogamer.net

Activision is still teasing some kind of change to Call of Duty: Warzone’s main map, this time with the impending arrival of a boat.

This week, Activision said Verdansk will get a number of attractions to discover or explore as part of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone Season Two. We were told that it promotes the Warzone story. The trailer for season two is below:

Mention was made of the truck, Vodianoy, which players recently spotted on the coast of Rebirth Island. This ship went missing at sea, but is now on its way to the port of Verdansk. “Operators in the area are advised to be extremely careful,” the official comment read.

And there is something that “begins to rumble” deep underground in Verdansk, although these new areas have not yet been set out. I imagine players will be sniffing them out shortly after the launch of the second season on February 25th.

But before, players spotted the Vodianoy on their way to the port of Verdansk in the game.

Redditor Kennnt placed a game stone on the Warzone sub showing the approaching vessel, as well as a lightning storm above.

Meanwhile, the screen distortions continue. The latest is accompanied by more Russian chat, apparently aboard the Vodianoy itself. Here is a clip tweeted by @xRadical__:

And here is the translation, thanks to Twitter user @totsamyipetrik:

“Captain Rosental speaks. Russian ship Vodianoy. … happened. We were transporting foreign biological material. What did we do ?! There was an outbreak of infection. I’m afraid we will not be able to contain it. (Go continue to shout). “

So, what’s going on? Call of Duty fans have many theories. The Vodianoy is expected to crash in Verdansk and become one of the new points of interest that Activision has teased. From there, players suspect that the ship will contain zombies, spit zombies on the map or release this ‘strange biological material’ that turns dead players into zombies.

It looks like a safe bet. Last week, players discovered the Cold War Zombies trial machine in Warzone’s rumble playlist. Since then, more has been added to the map. So zombies almost come to Warzone. Remember, for the first time, the Call of Duty: Warzone, Black Ops, Zombies and Modern Warfare storylines are connected.

As they speculate about what will happen later in the second season, some reckon that this zombie outbreak on Verdansk will eventually force a nuke – just to be sure. Do you remember Activision’s teasing about something “starting to rumble” deep inside Verdansk? Maybe the rumble comes from underground silos. The clip below, taken from the season 2 trailer released this week, shows a player zipping up and out of an underground silo, and other players fighting outside. This is not currently possible in Warzone:

In the same trailer we see how a character is an enemy – it’s Sparta! style – in an open silo. Again, this is not something you can currently do in Warzone:

Here is an interesting theory from redditor SapphireXP: “my guess: it’s the ship from Rebirth Island and it’s going to crash in Verdansk due to the storm. Chemicals are being released. Dead players turn into zombies. They see no way out and Verdansk is dancing. … we get a new card. ‘

If a nuk will make Verdansk explode to the ground, and players have long suspected that this is the way Activision is going with it, then what happens to the map? Maybe we will be able to play on Verdansk again, but that has changed due to the explosion. Maybe there will be a brand new card to play in. There is definitely a feeling among players that Verdansk as it currently stands has gone its course, and there is an appetite for a new environment.
