Call of Duty: Warzone has had a problem with its “pay-to-win” pink skin for some time – but at the moment it seems more popular than ever.
Last year, the Smoke Skin was sold as part of the season 5 premium fight pass (it was a level 100 unlock) and it didn’t take long before players accused it of being a ‘pay-to-win’ microtransaction . The problem has to do with the appearance of the outfit: it is completely black with no reflective surfaces, which means that it is very difficult to spot in dark parts of the game. Even Roze’s eyes are surrounded by black face paint.

Anyone who has played Warzone knows that there are many dark areas on the map to golf in. Playing the battle royale in solos can feel like a very difficult time. Add to this the Pink’s Smoke skin, and you could end up in such situations:

Roze’s Smoky Skin has been a problem since its release, but was recently re-released after being used by participants in the sensational $ 250,000 Twitch Rivals tournament (the one that led to allegations of fraud) is.
Redditor caribou_drew drew attention to a foyer full of pink skins waiting to fall in the Warzone tournament. The image was taken from the live stream of one of the participants in the tournament, the NRG player Jordan “Huskerrs” Thomas:

It now feels like Warzone is home to more “sweaty” Pink Skins than ever before, with a number of prominent Call of Duty content creators as well as community members claiming to be removed – or at least a change in its appearance.
Warzone solos are more toxic than League of Legends. I played 4 games and every enemy wore the black Pink skin. All but one sat in a dark corner all the time and did nothing until I passed them.

Can confirm that there were 14 fraudsters and 67 pink skins hiding in the trees. https://t.co/3z2ObI4C2b

Right now, Call of Duty players are watching clips of the war against players using the Pink Skin – even groups full.

@Activisie @CallofDutyUK @CODLeague I see that you have had some complaints from players about a certain cosmetic skin, also known as ‘smoking’. It was a dominant choice in the recent tournament? Please see my redesign for your consideration. Let me know what you think of it? #war zone pic.twitter.com/0i3biL8BXG

I do not think it is likely that Activision will pull Roze’s Smoke skin out of the game, as it was sold via the premium combat pass. But the current custodian Raven Software of Warzone is now under pressure to change what it looks like so that it can be considered balanced for the battlefield. Maybe it will be banned for tournaments.

The saving thing here is that this Smoke skin can not currently be purchased because it was a season five battle reward. Will Activision sell it in-game at some point via the store? If they did, it would probably make a murder.
