Warzone players create their own nuke from vehicles • Eurogamer.net

And it is not surprising that it broke the server.

Call of Duty: Warzone has been teasing a nuclear explosion for some time, and although rumors are swirling that the destruction of Verdansk is imminent, it appears that some players have decided to take matters into their own hands: by making their own bomb from cars. And yes, it broke the server, what did you expect?

Call of Duty Warzone: PS5 vs. Xbox Series X / Series S – Back-Compat Showdown + 120 fps Analysis

The experiment was carried out by streamer MarleyThirteen, who called in 149 followers to join a Warzone match to create the ‘biggest explosion Verdansk has ever seen’ (thank you, VGC). The players agreed on a ceasefire and were tasked with locating as many vehicles as possible, while MarleyThirteen’s team picked up contracts to show upcoming rings and the location of ‘ground zero’. Players were also told to pick up as much cash as possible – and use all that money to buy a bunch of strikes.

The group did not manage it the first time or even the second time: with the first attempt, one player accidentally used their cluster strike too early, while the second in the vehicle stack drove so fast that it caused damage and mini explosions, which create a chain reaction instead of one big fireball. The third time is the charm, as they say, and with a little careful driving and queuing under the guidance of MarleyThirteen, the group manages to get the desired explosion. It is not surprising that the server crashed, as the game could not process all the cluster attacks and burning vehicles.

Maybe it’s not quite the glamorous end of the season that players have suggested – but I think it’s close enough.
