A new Call of Duty: Warzone sound leakage apparently confirms that a new “Plague” mode will bring a big battle between players and zombies over Verdansk. The audio was shared through the @ZestyCODLeaks Twitter account and contains several minutes of audio outlining the conflict. From the sound we can see that players are fighting for Verdansk while trying not to get infected by the dead. The sound also mentions a nuke entering Verdansk. If players succeed in Pest mode, they filter. If they fail, the nook will explode, which will cause Verdansk as a result.

Zombies have come to Call of Duty: Warzone with the update of the second season of last week, but so far limited to the Shipwreck portion of the map. If the sound leak is believed, the dead will eventually spread to more places around Verdansk, leading to the new plague mode being teased in the sound. Rumors have been circulating for months that Verdansk is being replaced, and there have been other recent rumors about the nuclear destruction of the current map. This event could very well be the catalyst for Verdansk’s end!
As for leaks, this one is really interesting! Zombies have long been a popular part of the Call of Duty games, so it’s easy to imagine that Plague mode is a hit with War zone fans. Until Activision and Raven Software make any form of official announcement, fans should take the leak with a grain of salt. It certainly seems legal, but plans change often. There were many seemingly authentic leaks that for some reason did not come to naught. For now, War zone fans will have to wait and see what the future holds!
