The next major update for Black Ops Cold War and Warzone, Season 2 Reloaded, is imminent. Here’s all we know about the mid-season update.

Season 2 brought a plethora of new content in both Black Ops Cold War and Warzone. New maps, weapons and operators arrived in Call of Duty, and Zombies began to invade both Verdansk and the Ural Mountains.

However, there are many features from the official roadmap that have not yet arrived in the game. It is very likely that these weapons, operators and maps will come in the middle of the season 2 update.

Here’s all we know about the next major update for Warzone and Black Ops Cold War.

Warzone x Cold War Season 2 Road Map

Warzone and Cold War Season 2: Reloaded release date

Activision has not yet announced an official release date for Warzone x Cold War’s mid-season 2 update, but suggestions Treyarch posted on March 22 give us a probable date.

As discussed further in this article, Treyarch teased a new map that arrived in the outbreak mode of Cold War Zombies. Treyarch tweeted: “Next week new mysteries of the Dark Aether await …”

This makes it very likely that Warzone x Black Ops Cold War Season 2 Reloaded will be launched the week of March 29th. Updates usually take place on a Thursday, so the most likely launch date is 1 April 2021.

New maps coming after the Black Ops Cold War

There are still some new maps to arrive in the Black Ops Cold War that have been confirmed for season 2.

Continuing the success of Modern Warfare’s Gunfight mode, a new quarterly map will be updated mid-season. Mansion will be a pit players against each other in competitive 2v2 matches based on a mansion.

Golova Black Ops Cold War

Also, Golova, from which players received a preview of Outbreak, will arrive in multiplayer. It is unknown whether these picturesque Ural Mountains will be limited to Fireteam or a smaller 6v6 version.

An update of one of the most controversial maps of the Cold War will also come Miami strike. This new version of the map tries to solve the biggest problems of players on the map – the size and the night color palette. This abbreviated version of Miami is played during the day, allowing faster action in 6v6 modes.

New War Zone and Cold War Season 2 Weapons

A total of six new weapons would arrive in Season 2 in Black Ops Cold War and Warzone. Before the mid-season update, four were added: the LC10, FARA 83, Machete and E-tool. This leaves the R1 Shadowhunter crossbow and the ZRG 20mm Sniper rifle.

The R1 Shadowhunter crossbow will be added on March 25, leaving only the new Sniper Rifle for the mid-season update.

Crossbow game black ops cold war

We do not know much about the ZRG 20mm Sniper Rifle, but since it is the last unreleased weapon, it will probably arrive with the middle of the season 2 update.

New content from the Cold War and Warzone Zombies

Since the start of season 2, the dead have begun to overwhelm the Fireteam and Warzone card. Season 2’s new Zombies mode, Outbreak, has a new map that will rotate after Season 2 Reloaded.

Treyarch tweeted on March 20: “The outbreak zone is going to get even bigger.” In the extract we can see the Sanitorium area of the Ural Mountains.

The leaked Plague game mode, which is set to Nuke Verdansk, may also come during this update. Although Zombies are slowly moving from place to place, it sounds like they will soon be invading the whole of Verdansk, and it is the task of the players to wipe it out. The mode will end with the announcer shouting, “Withdrawal canceled, nuke incoming for Verdansk.”

New Operators for Warzone and Cold War

There are two more Operators released in Warzone Season 2.. The official roadmap for Season 2 reveals that four new Operators will be coming over the course of the season. We’ve seen Naga and Samantha Maxis before, but Rivas and Wolf has yet to arrive.

We’ve seen these upcoming Operators for the first time in the season 2 trailer, but it’s very likely that they’ll arrive as part of the mid-season update. There is no word on how they will be unlocked, but it will likely be through challenges or as bundles in store.
