Warzone, Black Ops Cold War and Modern Warfare • Eurogamer.net

Call of Duty: Warzone’s Season Two download is now live – and it’s a big one.

Here are the download sizes:

  • PlayStation 5: 17GB
  • PlayStation 4: 17GB
  • Xbox One Series X / Xbox One Series S: 17.9 GB
  • Xbox One: 17.9 GB
  • PC: 16.9 GB (Warzone only), 20.8 GB (Warzone and modern warfare)

When I started downloading on my PS5 this morning, I was warned that more than 100 GB of space was needed before I could download the 17 GB update, which had to force me to remove games installed on my hard drive.

After deleting a few games, the download of the 17 GB Modern Warfare started.

It’s really annoying to have to find so much space for a 17 GB download, especially since there is currently no way to move PS5 games off the SSD.

Storage is an issue that Activision addressed overnight and warns that those who own a standard PS4 with a standard 500GB hard drive (it’s me!) May need to make room if they have the full versions of Modern Warfare, Warzone and Black Ops Cold War with all modes and packages installed.

This means that Activision is warning for the first time that all three games that are full and up to date with Season Two will no longer fit on a standard PS4.

“If you have installed both games and kept up to date with updates, you may need to remove unused game content to successfully download and install the Warzone patch tonight,” Activision said.

You can remove parts of Black Ops Cold War and Modern Warfare to save space, but this is an important moment that shows how big Call of Duty installation footprints have become.
