Warriors’ Steph Curry ‘very doubtful’ for Saturday’s game against Grizzlies

The Warriors will probably have to keep winning without Steph Curry.

After the 116-103 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday, Warriors coach Steve Kerr said Curry will likely battle it out on Saturday’s second game against the Grizzlies.

“He is very doubtful,” Kerr told reporters via video conference after Friday’s victory. ‘It would be irresponsible of us to play him at this stage. He is still in pain. ”

The Warriors are playing nicely with Curry, who has a bruised tailbone after suffering an uncomfortable shiver against the Houston Rockets on Wednesday. Except Saturday, the Warriors’ next game is Tuesday in the Philadelphia 76ers.

‘[Athletic trainer] “Drew Yoder told me we need to make sure he is stable and strong in the area, muscles around the injury,” Kerr said. “It’s not even a temptation to put him out there. We are medically only going to do what is right. When he’s ready, he’s ready. ‘

Andrew Wiggins performed in Curry’s absence on Friday, scoring 40 points, which has set a new high since joining the Warriors. He finishes 14-out-24 from the field and 6-out-11 from 3-point series, adding eight rebounds and four assists.

Jordan Poole continued his exciting game with 25 points as an appetizer in Curry’s place, while Draymond Green took over the play and dished out 13 strokes.

The Warriors would love to have a similar effort from their group if Curry, as expected, misses the next game.
