Golden Curry star Steph Curry is just like you and me. Suppose you made at least one Zoom call during the pandemic from your bed at home.

The face of the Warriors did its canned ESPN interview before the game on Sunday night before the Warriors-Lakers premiere relationship with Jorge Sedano was apparently out of bed. Pillows and a very fine wooden headboard were both fully visible during Curry’s preview chat about the stripes Dubs.

While sleeping in a comfortable hoodie, Steph talks about everything from the Warriors trying to find their team identity, to being thankful that he’s healthy after missing 58 games last season with a broken left hand. (“This is the most time I’ve been away from the game,” he said. “… I missed it.”)

Curry also praised Draymond Green, whom he called the best defensive player in the NBA, just after Green was overwhelmed by both Jalen Rose and Jay Williams with the complimentary compliments during ESPN’s ‘NBA Countdown’ preseason. “I think he just wanted basketball to be the only thing he had to worry about,” Curry said of his longtime teammate. “You just see how he dominates the game on both sides.”

The Dubs sniper, who was currently No. 3 in the NBA for scoring points, tackled the interview by hammering out the issue of food insecurity and the effort of his Eat Learn Play Foundation to combat it. Since COVID-19 first hit the United States, Curry’s Foundation has been offering 16 million free meals to Bay Area families in need.
