Warranty replacements for AirPods Max do not include new ear cushions

If you are having problems with your AirPods Max and need to get a replacement pair under warranty, it looks like the new set will be delivered without a refreshing set of ear cushions.

A 9to5Mac the reader sent some “AirPods Max” for repair due to a problem with the Digital Crown, and the replacement kit he received back did not include ear cushions.

Apple rather expects users to keep the cushions of the damaged set ‘AirPods Max’ to use with the replacement pair, unless of course the cushions have also suffered damage. Given the modular design of the ‘AirPods Max’, it is possible for Apple to send only the headphones or just the ear cushions for replacement purposes.

Apple’s instructions for posting in the AirPods Max include a diagram instructing users to remove the ear cushions before sending them to AirPods Max in a recovery box.

With the replacement of AirPods Pro models, Apple does offer new earplugs, but earplugs for the AirPods Pro cost $ 8 rather than $ 69 like the AirPods Max ear pads, so it’s no surprise that they’s delivered separately.

At the moment, Apple does not sell ear cushions on a stand-alone basis, but it will likely be available if inventory improves. PAirPods Max‌ purchases at Apple currently have the March delivery date.
