WandaVision’s third episode pays tribute to The Brady Bunch in decor and fashion, but also with the appearance of a very important object.

As WandaVision from a black-and-white environment inspired by The Dick Van Dyke Show and Betower in a world defined by avocado green, roasted sienna and teak, a student of classic sitcoms does not need the influence of The Brady Forest in the third installment: If the color scheme and questionable fashion choices were not enough to give, then the iconic staircase was. However, the tribute to the Marvel Studios series to the story of a lovely lady goes bit deeper.
The episode entitled ‘Now in Color’ focuses on Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen)’s sudden, and now quickly progress, pregnancy while she and Vision (Paul Bettany) struggle with the impending birth … or births. While Wanda prepares the nursery and tries to hide the growing baby bump with coats, a bowl of fruit and finally a vase (a funny nod to the ridiculous lengths of TV shows), it will be the real pregnancy of a actor disguised) Vision ends up in the classic “expectant father” mode, which of course involves practicing to diaper a newborn.
For that, he uses a baby doll, with which he has formed a concept, while Wanda thwarts his efforts. Vision’s super speed is the obvious visual gag, but it’s not just any Doll. This is Kitty Karry-All, Cindy Brady’s beloved doll (or at least a close fax).
United in The Brady Forest Season 1 episode “Kitty Curry-All Is Missing”, the doll disappears, leading Cindy to blame Bobby. somehow affects his ability to play the kazoo. And, because this is The Brady ForestThe tension increases rapidly, leading to growing riffs among the six children and, yes, even a mock trial for Bobby. But when Bobby’s kazoo disappeared, Cindy becomes the accused. (Spoiler: The real culprit was the family dog, Tiger.)
The Remco toy company released a 19-inch-long Kitty Karry All-doll in 1969, the point of sale of which, apart from the Brady Bunch connection, was apparently the multiple pockets sewn into her dress. (The colorful packaging reads: “She has a bundle of bags! A bag with a comb … A bag with a handkerchief … A bag with a pillow and crayon … A bag with a flower … and one With Beads. ”) However, Vision only needed Kitty as a fixture.
But maybe he should have bought two.
WandaVision was written by Jac Schaeffer and directed by Matt Shakman. Elizabeth Olsen plays Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as Vision, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, and Kathryn Hahn as Agnes.
