WandaVision Star Kat Dennings was blown away by Marvel’s initial pitch for Sitcom series

The first five installments of WandaVision is now available on Disney + and the latest two featured Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis. This is Dennings’ first time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since Thor: The Dark World was released in 2013. Dennings joins the MCU during one of its most ambitious projects. In fact, she recently told Extra TV that she thought the idea was ‘madness’ when she first heard the pitch.

In the interview, Dennings explains that her first encounter for the series was in a ‘very mysterious conference room’ and that she had to sign many NDAs before entering. She added that the walls were ‘covered by sitcom references’ as well as comics. “I was just like, ‘How are you going to do this? This is insanity. This concept, I’ve never heard of it.’ Of course, they pull it off incredibly well, but it’s hard to explain. ‘Dennings goes on to say that the’ testament to the show ‘is the fact that her mother, who has never seen an Avengers movie, likes it. Fans of Dennings will be excited to hear that Darcy is likely to show up in more upcoming Marvel projects. ‘There are some things I did for Marvel that do not work out [WandaVision]. But I can probably not say, ‘said Dennings. Extra. “We just leave it there.”

Recently, Dennings with the Keep it podcast about WandaVision and reveals that Darcy’s role was originally meant to be a few scenes, but her friendship with Natalie Portman (Jane Foster) inspired a larger role.

“Because Natalie and I are already friends, I remember exactly that,” Dennings shared. “I walk into the room and I’m very shy. I came in and I sat down and Natalie was not there yet and everyone was so nice. Natalie sat on my lap because we are friends. I think our friendship infected them [like] his purity and love. Darcy slowly became more involved, and I was like, ‘Why are they adding me to scenes?’ She added: “To be honest, friendship magic is the reason I’m here today. ‘

WandaVisionThe first five episodes are now airing on Disney +, with new episodes on Fridays.
