WandaVision Promo Signals Phase 4 of the MCU

The new “Signal” promotion for Disney + WandaVision promises the beginning of a new era for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

With the premiere of WandaVision in less than two weeks on January 15, the latest preview for Marvel Studios’ first Disney + series announces a new era for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The promotion, called the ‘Signal’ teaser, keeps the layers of the bizarre, sitcom-like reality away in Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff. At one point, an old clock / radio manages to get a signal and repeatedly calls Wanda’s name. The promo itself also marks the beginning of phase four of the MCU, with the promise that “a new era” will come with “a new year”.

WandaVision will not only be Marvel Studios’ first Disney + series, but – after the delay of films like Black widow and Eternal – will also be the first MCU project to be released in its entirety as part of Phase Four. Consisting of six deliveries, WandaVision Season 1 ends on February 19 and will soon be followed by Marvel Studios’ second Disney + series The falcon and the winter soldier, which will premiere its own first season in six episodes on March 19.

According to the official summary for WandaVision,

Marvel Studios’ “WandaVision” mixes the style of classic sitcoms with the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) – two super-powered creatures living their ideal suburban lives – begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems. The new series is directed by Matt Shakman; Jac Schaeffer is lead author. Debuts this year on Disney +.
