As is almost always the case, the credit ranges predict the future of the MCU. If you have not yet looked, do not go further – but if you want to know what was in it, we will explain it below.
Full spoilers follow for Episode 9 of WandaVision!The middle credit scene focuses on Monica Rambeau, who displayed more of her newly acquired strengths for most of the show. After talking to Jimmy Woo and asking for Darcy, Monica said she should go to the Westview Theater through an unknown agent. After she arrives and sees no one else, the agent reveals her as a Skrull, explaining that ‘an old friend of [Monica’s mother]would like to meet Monica – asked where to go, she points upwards.
This clearly refers to Nick Fury of Samuel L. Jackson, who we last saw in Spider-Ma: Far From Home’s post-credits scene (where he also used Skrull agents to keep in touch with Peter Parker), to aboard a space station. . It looks like Monica is going to join Fury to some extent, probably as part of the Secret Invasion series, in which Fury and Talos (Ben Mendelsohn) investigate a sect of Skrulls that has invaded the highest levels of authority in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. .The scene to credits is slightly less easy to interpret. We see that Wanda moved to a remote hut in the mountains and apparently led a simple life. However, a final revelation shows an astral projection by Scarlet Witch exploring the Darkhold (the book with the magical book Agnes referred to in the final). When the scene ends, we hear Billy and Tommy begging for help.
While Billy and Tommy seem to have disappeared, along with Wanda’s memory version of Vision, at the end of the series, this seems to indicate the idea that parts of her sons continue to live somewhere in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Or should it be Multiverse? We know that Scarlet Witch will be a part of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and the projection of her lecture is a recall to scenes in the original Doctor Strange film in which Stephen Strange learned magic while his body slept.
Maybe Wanda’s interest in Strange is in learning how it goes through reality in search of her children. It may also be a link to the general theory that Mephisto will become part of the MCU in the latest phase. While the devil lord was not WandaVision’s Big Bad, we saw what a reference to him in the trailer for the Loki series might be. Since Mephisto has a penchant for collecting souls, Billy and Tommy may have become part of his collection – which would explain why they also beg for help.
But before we get to any from the above we still have the good old fashioned action of The Falcon and Winter Soldier coming up, with the series starting on March 19th at Disney +.
