‘WandaVision’ Episode 5: Is Monica and Captain Marvel no longer friends

The way WandaVision ending Episode 5, surely left us with X-quote questions. But two characters’ brief debate over EndgameThe ending was also enigmatic.

Halfway through ‘On a Very Special Episode’, SWORD’s captain Monica Rambeau, FBI agent Jimmy Woo and dr. Darcy Lewis once again to make an inventory of ‘The Hex’ and the previously unimaginable amount of power Wanda would need around the artwork. Still, things Monica said and did pointed to the spaces to be filled in – if that did not indicate a secret.

Wait, what? The first speed bump that strikes this dialogue is when Monica apparently gives first-hand evidence on how Avengers: Endgameplayed his last fight. First, she was certainly not available for it; she had just slipped into her late mother’s hospital room. Two, there’s no morning after the “box score” for Avengers fights. There is no Sports center Summary. And while at least one podcast I listened to claimed that many creatures were available for download after the Snap, I did not really see them giving interviews after the game.

So, on what does Monica base this opinion? “She could have taken Thanos out” and “No one else even came close” strong to make statements. It is so an endorsement of Wanda’s abilities, it’s almost like the publication of the Sokovian witchcraft wrote it – if not the opinion of Wanda herself. It’s challenging to think for half a second (before the theory falls apart) that Wanda blows Monica out of the Hex. escape the prison in the form of a well-known ally, thus giving secret strategies from the outside. But again, Monica was too unique a character to apply the theory. Right? Now, fan boy Jimmy could, we might argue, have first-hand access to information on how Endgame gone down. Maybe even from Scott Lang, who is certainly talking about some beers. And as a former SHIELD agent, he may have heard of Carol Danvers’ negative accomplishments from the 1990s, though it always seemed like Nick Fury kept it all at a low ebb.

WandaVision Thanos debate

No, here’s the most important thing about Monica reaction to Jimmy’s statement. There is no indication of a warm acquaintance with Carol Danvers, although we know that there existed at least once, in 1995. Monica purses her lips and shoots her eyes downward, as if she would rather not talk about Captain Marvel. at all. And to be clear:

Brrr. OK, Monica really does not want to talk about Carol Danvers. No more subtext. What could go down in the decades that followed between Carol and BFF, Maria Rambeau’s daughter Captain Marvel? Is this a question that Captain Marvel 2, in which Teyonah Parris will play the adult Monica again, will answer?

Some more knee-jerk theories and questions that come from Episode 5:

Agnes was both times Tommy and Billy shot up, and has only had one quip about the unimaginable. Does she (whoever she is) facilitate their growth? If this mirror is “all for the children”, is there perhaps someone who is in a hurry for them (and any latent forces) to reach adulthood?

Wandavision Recap 1x05♦ If one endorses the theory that Agnes’ true self is actually the Westview victim, I would end up forgetting her line (‘Should we take it from above?’) As a way of pretending that Wanda is in the one is in charge, perhaps to promote division between her and Vision.

♦ Vision’s collaborator Norm was certainly not talking about Wanda, when he withdrew from his fugue state, he was referring to “her” and the pain she was inflicting on him. Normally, Vision’s wife surely knows he would have said her name.

♦ Acting Director Heyward apparently intends to portray Wanda as a ‘terrorist’, and to extract and characterize behavior from her past. Easy theory: Wanda learns that Vision’s body was illegally experimented with, hacked in to retrieve it, created and retreated to the Hex as a way to “revive” him, and now Heyward is trying to get his lost “weapon” claim back – possibly to recruit another powerful witchcraft, Agatha Harkness, to infiltrate.

WandaVision Pietro♦ That last scene … well, it clearly comes to the fore very of questions, by the X mans films’ version of QuickSilver / Pietro Maximoff appears on his “stinking sister” Wanda’s doorstep, instead of the MCU version played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Yes, Darcy has noticed that Wanda’s twins are ‘reship’, but will she be able to observe anything further? See Darcy “that man of American horror storyDoes Pietro play? Will a facial recognition be a news report about an event of one of the X mans movies? Or will he register as merely a stranger?
