Wanda’s new Scarlet Witch costume could explain Quicksilver’s crossover

Wanda and Vision went the same way themselves for Halloween. But aren’t these Silver Age comic book costumes just fun references for fans? Could Wanda’s retro look actually be mean something much deeper? Let’s talk about Wanda’s amazing costume, and what it might mean for the remaining few episodes of WandaVision at Disney +. Spoil for Episode 6 ahead!

In WandaVision Episode 6, “Brand-New Halloween Ghost Takular” a moment that has haunted since the first trailers finally arrived: Wanda is rocking her old-fashioned Scarlet Witch costume from the Silver Age of the Marvel comic book universe. This will undoubtedly make many fans of the comics happy, but in the context of the story of WandaVision What does it mean?

The easy answer is: Nothing. It’s just a Marvel Eater egg and a nod to it WandaVision have fun with old school comics. Recently, Elizabeth Olsen apparently suggested at one point that the Scarlet Witch costume barely happened before she insisted on it.

But now say it is not completely where? So far, the cast and crew of WandaVision was pretty good at hiding major developments, including the return of Wanda’s brother Pietro for the other Wonder movies, the X mans. And because Quicksilver / Pietro made his first full regular appearance in this episode of WandaVision, you must be really wondering – is the costume a sign that more X-Men are coming?

We still do not really know how Wanda got the power to cause the great “Westview” disturbance. In two episodes, she even admits she’s not sure how it started. It also seems that she has no control over Pietro or her ‘children’. By the end of this episode, Pietro says he came to Westview because he heard Wanda “calling”.

If Wanda broke down some dimensional obstacles (by accident?), It goes without saying that she somehow picked up a lot of information from different alternative realities. Pietro is from the X-Men “universe”, but maybe it’s also her knowledge of her Scarlet Witch costume.

In episode 5, during a big SWORD meeting, Jimmy Woo makes it very clear that Wanda does not has a cool superhero name in ‘us’ universe. Meaning, in the MCU she is not called “Scarlet Witch”, which further means she do not know of her costume. But she knows clearly. And knowing that she’s dressed as Scarlet Witch, and her mutant brother is back from the dead, you really have to wonder if her mutant father … Magneto is not far behind.

As WandaVision leading to a family reunion between Wanda and her father, Magneto, from the cartoon, the next question is: are we going to watch Michael Fassbender? Ian McKellen? Or someone new?

WandaVision has three episodes left. Here’s when each episode will see Disney +.
