Authorities are investigating bomb threats made at two different Walmart stores on Sunday morning.

A Walmart in Knightdale has been evacuated for a bomb threat.

The Wake County Sheriff confirmed an active bomb threat at the Walmart at 7106 Knightdale Blvd. Around 8:30 a.m., a man called the store to say he had placed devices around the building and threatened to detonate it if his needs were not met.

“The content of these claims leads us to believe that there are other issues at play there,” said Lawrence Capps, Knightdale police chief.

A woman told WRAL that emergency personnel rushed to the Knightdale store and told her to leave.

“It’s like, oh wow, what did I just end up with now?” said Kris Minton. “It was a scary experience.”
