Walmart shooting in Glenolden, Delaware County linked to Darby’s absence: police

DARBY, Pennsylvania (WPVI) – A Walmart shooting on Sunday afternoon in Darby, Delaware County led to an illness, Action News has learned.

Around 8:30 a.m., police say the male suspect fired a shot at a Walmart on MacDade Boulevard in Glenolden.

Police confirm that the suspect fired a shot at an employee, but misses. The incident was possibly over a video game. No one was injured.

On Sunday afternoon, SWAT and several dozen officers farmed a house in the 400th street of Main Street in Darby Borough where the suspect apparently lives. According to investigators, police used the suspect’s phone to locate him at the Darby location.

The Action Cam showed officers with their guns on a building and several police officers walking across the streets.

Officers tried for hours to get the suspect out of the house, but police now believe the suspect fled before arriving there.

Residents in the area were allowed to return to their homes around 16:00

Police say the suspect may be armed and dangerous. He has not yet been identified.
