Walmart, Sam’s Club to administer COVID-19 vaccine in Texas

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – Walmart and Sam’s Pharmacies have announced that they will begin administering COVID-19 vaccines in Texas from February 12th.

The pharmacies will vaccinate individuals who are eligible for the vaccine according to state and federal guidelines. In Texas, those in Phase 1A and 1B qualify for the COVID-19 vaccine. Qualifying customers can schedule a vaccination appointment on the Walmart and Sam’s Club websites as soon as appointments are available. You do not have to be a member of Sam’s Club to sign up for an appointment.

“The Federal Retail Pharmacy Program is another important step in the public health effort to vaccinate Texans,” said Dr. John Hellerstedt, commissioner of the Texas Department of State Health Services, said. “This means that more vaccines are available in more places, and we appreciate the pharmacies’ willingness to help vaccinate our priority populations.”
