Walmart, Sam’s Club Pharmacies to administer COVID-19 vaccines in Texas, including San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO One pharmacy in San Antonio Walmart will begin administering COVID-19 vaccines from Friday, according to a company news release.

The Walmart, located at 5555 De Zavala Road, will be one of several locations in the country that will vaccinate residents through the US Federal Retail Pharmacy Program. In total, more than 1,000 pharmacies from Walmart and Sam’s will receive the vaccine lots.

The vaccine will be administered to residents who are eligible for residents 1A and 1B.

Those eligible to receive the vaccine could, according to the news release, schedule an appointment through the Walmart and Sam’s Club websites.

Ninety percent of the country lives within ten miles of a Walmart. “We are committed to leading a better and healthier life for people in Texas, and we take the role very seriously,” he said. Cheryl Pegus, executive vice president of health and wellness for Walmart, said. “We want to help the country reopen, but we can only achieve this through widespread vaccination against COVID-19. We are proud to work with the federal government, states, communities, customers and associates to expand and achieve access to the vaccine. ”
