NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) From Saturday, all New Yorkers over the age of 50 may go to a COVID vaccination site in the city for an appointment.
Walk-in appointments were previously only available to New Yorkers over the age of 75.
The mayor’s office says this policy also applies to pop-up sites run by the city.

Earlier this week, the challenge of finding an appointment in the city apparently eased – thousands of appointments were not immediately demanded.
The mayor said more pop-up sites and a robust supply of vaccinations could be the reasons. He said it’s good for the city.
Others feared that appointments would fail. If it continues to not be used, stockpiles of vaccines may increase.
Mayor de Blasio said 99% of New Yorkers now live within a mile of a vaccination site.
