Vote in 2021 does not yield any participants

The Baseball Hall of Fame’s class of 2021 will be empty.

No candidates passed the 75% threshold of the BBWAA vote. Most importantly, Curt Schilling (71.1), Barry Bonds (60.7) and Roger Clemens (611.6) fell short.

All three have another year of voting on the ballot before their Hall of Fame fates go to the Veterans Committee.

This is the ninth time that no contestants have been voted into the Hall of Fame. The classes of 2013, 1996, 1971, 1965, 1960, 1958, 1950 and 1945 were also empty.

However, Cooperstown will still celebrate. After the ceremony was canceled in 2020 over COVID-19 concerns, Derek Jeter, Larry Walker, Ted Simmons and Marvin Miller will finally get their appearance.
